 Welcome to East Rand Boat Fishing Club
ERBFC was founded in 1989 and caters for two facets of angling - Salt Water Deep Sea and Light Tackle Boat Fresh Water. As the name suggestes we are based on the East Rand, with our club house at the CR Swart Dam in Benoni. Our main focus is to promote a family environment and develop junior and family members into the fishing fraternity. We have meetings once a month where the whole club is encouraged to participate - we share information on up and coming events, have tackle boxes regularly and get everyone to vote on all decisions made for the club. Once a month we have a family social which ranges from either a Braai or Spit to Ten Pin Bowling. We host and participate in deep sea and fresh water competitions throughout the year and are in touch with all the clubs in South Africa and Mozambique regarding up and coming competitions and events. We encourage and where we can we try to sponsor our anglers to ensure representation from the club and experience for our members. Over the years we have been very proud to have produced some amazing anglers both junior and senior, that have achieved Club, Provincial, National and Protea Colours, in both Deep Sea and Fresh Water. One of the things we are very proud of as a club is our association with Child Welfare on the East Rand, where we raise funds yearly to host an Orphans Day as well as take on special projects to upgrade the lives of the children in care.
